LEED Building Design and Construction
Version 4.1 Statement
- Materials and Resources - Sourcing of Raw Materials (Possible 2 Points)
Recycled Content: Use products sourced from at least three/five manufacturers for at least 20/40%, by cost, of total value of permanently installed building products (1/2pts) with responsible sourcing and extraction criteria. Recycled content is the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half the pre-consumer recycled content, based on weight.
- Indoor Environmental Quality Credit 4.1- Low-Emitting Materials (Possible 1 Point)
Use materials on the building interior (everything within the waterproofing membrane) that meet the low-emitting criteria as listed in LEED.
U.S. Gear products are comprised of powder-coated metals, an inherently non-emitting source of volatile organic compounds (VOC), with no binders, surface coatings, or sealants that include organic chemicals; Thus, reducing concentrations of chemical contaminants that can damage air quality and the environment, and to protect the health, productivity, and comfort of installers and building occupants.
